I think this is possibly the quickest turnaround from snapping the photos to uploading into a blog post I’ve ever done. This evening, Alex and I hopped on a tram to catch the last of the Summer’s weekly South Melbourne Night Markets. I absolutely fell in love with all of the beautiful homewares stalls. I am definitely going back to South Melbourne to pick up one of those hanging succulent pots as soon as I can work out where I can hang it on our balcony! (And maybe to buy the Chocolate Souffle soy candle that I couldn’t stop sniffing for 1 minute straight).
After doing the usual rounds and inspections of all of the food stalls that is obviously essential at a market, I settled on Overdosa – Southern Indian crepes with pumpkin and they were divine. But the real showstopper was the salted caramel liquid nitrogen ice cream from 196° Below. It was sweet, it was salty, it was amazing. There’s something unbeatable about ordering street food in the fresh air and nibbling away whilst wandering through market stalls on a warm Summer’s evening.
P.s. Everyone here is all about ‘saying goodbye to Summer’ at the moment, what is that about? I’ve just arrived, Australia! Hoping the weather holds out for a month or so!
