Now that there’s only a few days to go, I’ve been thinking about how I’m going to decorate my room at university.
Fairy lights, bunting, colourful cushions, pretty postcards and paper, old familiar books that I’ve read hundreds of times and will read again. Basically I want to fill my bland rented student room with as much homely clutter as it can take!
What do you do to make places homely?

I always love decorating a room. I love combining vintage stuff with new things. Using photos will make it more personal.

I took an old cupboard from the basement I use to have in my room as a kid.. it had all these crazy colors which I grind off by hand (VERY hard work) – and then gave it some sort of natural-tree-wood-wax .. I'm considering painting it white. Then I got these knobs from Anthropoligie which I'm gonna add to it.

I recently moved into my Mum's flat, after living with my Dad for some time. She had the loveliest ideas to make my new room cozy.
Roses. "Fields" of roses, almost. And books.
When you enter, it looks like a second-hand bookstore/flower shop.

I'm hoping to redecorate my room next year, since I'm not moving out for university but it'll make me feel better. I have really similar ideas for when I decorate my room, I'll be hitting the car boot sales and the charity shops for little gems! I want bird cages and tons of picture frames! 🙂

These pictures are so lovely, I'd happily curl up and live in all of them!

For me a homely cosy room means lots of cushions, table lamps for reading, all my books around me and a handful of cute little knicknacks which remind me of all the palces I've been and the people I know!

I always had fairy lights in my uni room… a bit of sparkle always makes things seem homely! And a pretty bedspread always helps too I think 🙂 Have fun doing it all up – am sure it will look lovely!
