Happy first day of Spring! I am so glad to see some sun around here this week. I feel like we can finally come out of hibernation soon and actually allow ourselves to get excited about summer! This year so far has been quite slow – lots of nights in with blankets on the sofa, books, candles, Netflix and generally hiding from the cold. I make an effort to get outside in the light everyday but I’m so looking forward to light evenings too, and being more sociable this spring. This week we booked a holiday with my whole family together for the first time in a couple of years go to Spain in the summer and I cannot wait for some lazy pool days and tapas. I’m excited for some weekend breaks with friends next month as well. Have you got many summer plans? How has your 2018 been so far?
Yesterday I was reading Tania’s post on how blogging has changed in the last few years and it prompted me to share more random photos/posts, because I too miss this about blogging. After all, the word blog comes from web-log, which should be more like a diary right? My favourite posts to look back at over the years are these musings, capturing the small moments of different seasons of life that are so easily forgotten.
Reading // I’ve actually just finished a book called Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng and absolutely loved it. I’ve been reading a lot more this year and so I’ll share some of my favourites soon. What shall I read next?
Visiting // Frankfurt for Easter! I can’t say it’s somewhere at the top of my list to visit but a big group is going for a 30th so it will be fun! Any tips?
Stretching // By doing lots of yoga and pilates. I have paused my HIIT workouts due to a sore knee but I love how relaxing yoga is on a Saturday morning.
Eating // Lots of warming vegetarian curries and soups.
Drinking // My friend and I made delicious whisky/rum/pomegranate drinks to watch a movie while it snowed on Saturday and it was so cosy.
Wearing // All the huge jumpers and boots and feeling in a bit of a clothing rut.
Buying // A whole pile of bikinis from ASOS to try on… and 95% of them went back. Haaalp!
Looking // Forward to my family’s annual ‘Bun Fight‘ which always marks the beginning of spring for me.
Watching // Dark on Netflix. It’s a little bit creepy, a little bit confusing, and very addictive. One to try if you don’t mind reading subtitles.
Planning // A big trip to Canada in July/August to see our besties tie the knot! Let me know if you have any East Canada tips please!
Chatting // To my friend living in Mumbai and hearing all her crazy shenanigans.
