I’m back from my honeymoon! We went to Italy (Tuscany and then Sicily) and it was wonderful. And it feels like I left summer in London and have returned to autumn. However after an online break, I have come back feeling refreshed and better than I have in a while. I feel like someone has pressed the ‘reset’ button and I’m determined to keep it that way so I’ve been planning some things to look forward to and some goals for the rest of the year. Anyone else feeling a bit like the start of the new school year in this way?
Embracing the Season
Autumn is making me so nostalgic! The seasons are so much more defined here than in Australia, in terms of weather, food and the landscape changing so drastically. Also halloween and bonfire night are upcoming, and I am pretty excited for all things pumpkin and cosy nights in. It’s been three years since I had a cold Christmas so you can bet I’m going to go festive crazy in a month or two from now. Mulled wine, a real Christmas tree, carols and mince pies are top of the list. What are your favourite traditions?
Making Time
I’ve struggled with making time for everything since I’ve been working and commuting longer hours. It seems I can only be on top of one thing at once – blogging, exercising or socialising! I want to try a new routine during the week so I’m trialling a new work out studio before work and should give me more time in the evenings for family and friends. I always feel more positive/energised when I’m working out so it’s important to fit it in.
Booking in Things to Look Forward To
I think some day trips to places near London are on the cards for this season – there are so many cities I’ve never explored. I’ve got a couple of weekends away with friends booked between now and Christmas too which I’m very excited about. This weekend my family are doing our annual apple picking in Kent which always gets me in the mood for the season. This is the post from last time I went (also the same place we got married).
Getting organised
I love our flat but feel it needs a bit of rearranging, especially with clothes storage. Anyone else struggle with this in a small 1 bedroom flat with two people? I just bought Marie Kondo’s book to help
