Since having more time after the wedding, Alex and I have focused some energy on finishing decorating our flat. We’ve been here for nearly 3 months now and have only recently got round to getting the living room sorted and unpacking the last couple of boxes. I am so happy with how it’s looking though, and I think we’ll be spending a lot more time in this room as it starts to get colder and darker. It’s my favourite room in the flat (I mean, there’s only 3 rooms but hey) as the light is lovely.
Mid Century Sideboard
Meet Freda! I found this sideboard that someone had thrown out on the street while I was out on a run. She was in a really bad state – all dried out, the top was rotten and scratched and the back was falling apart. I have always wanted a piece like this though, so I called an Uber XL and he helped me take it back home. We’ve replaced the back and top and polished it with Liquid Gold (magical stuff) so it’s a completely different colour! I am obsessed with this dark teal shade that we painted the top with as well. Freda is so handy for storage and we love her.
Adding Texture
This winter will be my first full UK winter in 4 years! I’m really not a big fan of winter, it just makes me want to hibernate, so I’m trying to make it as cosy as possible in here. We have so many blankets tucked in a basket by the sofa, perfect for when watching Netflix. My brother and his girlfriend also gave us this gorgeous sheepskin for our wedding, which brings all the Scandi vibes. Having a couple of table lights makes it more atmospheric in the evenings in here as well, rather than having the ceiling light on. And of course, all the candles.
Get the Look/ Wishlist
I’m loving really deep blues and greens at the moment, paired with warm pinks and metallic. I’ve put together a few similar pieces below, as well as some new things on my wish list! Zurleys have some gorgeous industrial style pieces and I have my eye on a bar cart for our home next. I’m already planning all the festive cocktails we are going to mix up! Espresso martinis to start.
Clockwise from top left: Copper and Wood Pendant, Cotton Basket, Capri Candle, Metal Planter, Industrial Bar Cart, Scandi Side Tables, Industrial Console Table, Stockholm Chair, Pompom Cushion, Teal Lamb Cushion, Pink Block Blanket.

September 8, 2017 at 5:18 pmI love the sideboard! Vintage furniture will always be the way forward… I also love your sheepskins. I have a few dotted around and find it really amusing that my cats steadfastly refuse to sit on them.
