Wedding Inspiration 03

4 weeks to go!

Actually it is less now at the time of posting this blog! I thought I would squeeze in one last wedding inspiration post, though we are almost there with the planning which is so exciting. Wedding planning definitely comes in bursts and since the countdown suddenly went from months to weeks, we have been really productive. There is a LOT to do at the moment but I am loving it, from finalising flowers and putting together table plans to constructing wedding decorations until midnight every evening last week. It’s a bit manic and it’s the tiny decisions which throw me off. Like, should we have bells? Do we have enough cake? What waterproof mascara should I buy? Haha. I am grateful for the things that I ticked off early so that I do actually have time now to add new ideas into the mix.

For a long time the wedding seemed like a really far off idea, and suddenly it is so close and I feel SO excited. We had our marriage rehearsal a couple of weeks ago (as our vicar is local to us but not local to where we are getting married) and it made it feel very real and kind of emotional. I am getting ridiculously excited to be reunited with our Australian friends and Alex’s family who we haven’t seen since January. At the same time I almost want to pause this moment for a little longer. So I am really enjoying the planning right now, especially as I’ve found a lot of it quite stressful over the past year. Do you brides have any tips for the last minute pulling together?

    Bells: YES!
Cake: You can never have too much.. I’m sure you’ll be fine. But if you decide to order more, there’s never a problem with leftover cake!
Mascara: I swear by this Clinique one – https://www.harrods.com/en-gb/clinique/lash-power-mascara-long-wearing-formula-p000000000001546590?colour=black it’s not waterproof, but can only be removed with warm water (so tears are fine!) and it’s oilproof so won’t come off with sweat or if it’s hot and stick in the air. Highly highly recommend, I always had smudges with waterproof and it turned out it was because it was still being dissolved by oils on my skin.

    SO excited for you x

p.s. delegate! Are there things you can give to other people to worry about and you can do the things that you might find a bit more relaxing, like crafting?

Also, not sure what you’re doing about setting up and so on but I had a big hamper basket to hold all of the decorations going off to the venue and if you found it overwhelming, you could write a list and just focus on putting a few things in there every day.

And have a think about the night before/morning of re: what you’ll be eating, what you want everyone to be doing – a bridesmaid in charge of breakfast, for example. And another to make sure you all your bits and bobs are ready when you’re getting dressed.

Thinking back on it is making me all nostalgic! Just do everything you can now to make sure you can relax and have a nice time just before and after.

Wow. Wedding planning…. can be stressful. I started looking at the cost of dresses the other day and I just wanted to cry. What can we do eh? Just try your best to enjoy the day without breaking the bank too much, right? haha
