A New Chapter

And just like that, 2016 is almost over! And what a year it’s been. A pretty awful one for the world (I’m looking at you, Brexit and Trump) and also on a personal/family level it’s been the worst ever. But it’s wasn’t all doom and gloom. I got engaged to my very best friend and life on the whole has been very happy over the last 6 months. Either way, 2016 is a year I definitely won’t be forgetting anytime soon. How has your year been?

And I have a bit of news… 2017 is setting up to be a very busy and exciting year. After 2 years living down under, Alex and I are flying back to the North aka the motherland that is England. People keep asking me why we’re moving back but it’s always been the plan. In fact we’ve stayed double the amount of time we expected to. When we moved here I naïvely thought leaving Australia would be plain and simple because London is my home, but we’ve made amazing friends here and this now feels like my home too. Basically it’s going to be very hard to leave the wonderful people we’ve met here, not to mention Melbourne breakfast and sunshine #allthefeels. Hopefully we’ll be so distracted by a whirlwind of wedding planning next year that we won’t have time to feel sad. Move to the other side of the world, find jobs, find a home, and plan a wedding in 6 months? Yep, we got this!

So recently I’ve been soaking up every moment with the people I love here, enjoying Melbourne and not spending much time on the blog. I’m excited to explore the UK and London more when we’re back, as I’ve not spent much time living there other than being a skint student. And Alex has never been to Cornwall or Devon which is something that I need to rectify really soon. What are your plans for 2017? And Merry Christmas!

Congratulations on your engagement. Wedding planning is so much fun! I hope your move back to the UK goes smoothly, please bring some of that lovely Ozzie weather back with you. Make sure you bring Alex to Dartmouth. It’s beautiful in summer and I’m not just saying that because I live here…ok I am lol.

Wow I can’t believe it’s been two years. If you have time in between moving and wedding planning it would be lovely to meet up when you’re back!
