I’d Like to Live Here | 05

It’s been a while since I posted in this series, where I bring together a collection of rooms from different homes to go together. I’ve noticed that Australian (interior) design is very colourful, playful, and unique. The styling of bedding especially is super cheerful, colourful, and often mis-matches colours and patterns which is lots of fun. Today is a bit of a dreary day in Melbourne so I thought I’d put together a cheery colourful dream home. And actually a lot of these happen to be from Australian homes. I love all the textures and mix of old/new in these spaces, and the shades of green and apricot pinks stood out to me.
My favourite image here is the one with the framed places from around the world, all torn from a Rifle Calendar. I actually bought a herb Rifle Calendar from Papermash with this exact intention. I probably wouldn’t frame so many, but I thought the beautiful illustrated herbs would look so lovely framed and displayed in a kitchen. What do you think? I also love the painted chest of drawers beneath it – so simple but so much fun again.

I love the clever shelving in the last picture! We have a couple of open shelves but it's actually quite impractical for the not-so-perfectly curated home. Would be nice to hide some things and have other things on show.

Totally agree – a mix of hidden and on-display creates a tidy illusion!

They're lovely colours aren't they! Slightly unusual in a good way.
