{GUEST POST} Five Reasons to Visit Australia

Hello from Thailand! Today I’ve got the lovely Sarah from Daydreams of Summertime (a gorgeous lifestyle + travel blog) posting a rather fitting list on the blog. Hopefully in a few weeks I will start having my own reasons to recommend Australia but here is Sarah’s, whose list has got me very excited for life ‘down under’! Thanks Sarah! x

Hello! I am very excited to be guest posting over here on Polly’s blog today! I’m Sarah, and I blog over at Daydreams of Summertime which is a lifestyle and travel blog. Speaking of travel, I have recently come back from a lovely holiday in Australia and I used to live there so I thought I would share with you some of my favourite things about this amazing country.

The Coffee Culture
Nowhere does coffee quite like Australia, in fact before I moved there I wasn’t really that into coffee at all but it is hard to resist all of the lovely independent coffee shops dotted everywhere. Soon enough I was sipping on flat whites watching the world go by. I just wish the UK had this same sort of culture! I am considering buying myself a coffee machine just so I can make myself the perfect flat white and pretend I am back in Sydney!

The Beaches
Australia has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and I have been lucky enough to visit quite a few of them. I think the beaches on the West coast are the most beautiful as they don’t attract the crowds that the East coast ones do. Having said this I am a big fan of some of the beaches around Byron Bay and don’t even get me started on how great the Northern beaches of Sydney are!

The Scenery
As well as the beaches Australia has some gorgeous scenery elsewhere. When I lived over there I took a massive road trip around Australia so got to see a lot of the different landscapes which are just so varied. From the Blue Mountains to Uluru, to the rain forests up north, there is just so much beauty to see! I could honestly travel around the country forever and never get bored of looking at any of it!

The Lifestyle
Everyone always talks about how great the lifestyle is in Australia and I am no different. I just love it, it is a lot more relaxed than over here in the UK and because the weather is so much better everyone spends a lot more time outdoors. When I lived in Sydney I often used to have picnics or barbeque’s in the park and my weekends were spent at the beach. It’s also not unusual for people to get up really early in the morning and go surfing or running which totally beats the gym if you ask me!

The Wine!
Australia has several wine regions such as the Borossa Valley and Margaret River, I know very little about wine so I always take a wine tour as they are a fun way to explore these areas. My favourite area is the Hunter Valley in New South Wales and we always try and take a trip there when we head back to Australia as not only does it produce amazing wine but the scenery is spectacular too!

These are just a few of the reasons why Australia is one of my favourite countries and why I keep going back there and I am rather jealous that Polly will be moving there! Have any of you been to Australia? What are your favourite things about this wonderful country?

You really make me want to visit Australia! I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I do love a flat white. The vineyards sound amazing too, and I'm envious of the great weather and relaxed lifestyle. Love all your gorgeous photos, Sarah! xxx

However, for this article we’d like to share with you some of our most favorite NYC cafes and coffee bars located near 1871 House. Each one is as unique as it is delicious!
