Christmas Baking

At the beginning of the month, notonthehighstreet.com got in contact asking me to take part in their ‘Crafty Christmas’. I love Christmas time and am never one to turn down getting festive and crafty! I picked out some lovely baking goodies, put on my apron and blasted some Christmas tunes in the kitchen. There’s nothing like the smell of spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves to remind you of Christmas.
My brother makes a mean chocolate milkshake so he got stuck in with the drinks. I can’t wait to serve Christmas cocktails and Baileys in these cute milk bottles! And I love these candy cane style straws.
By the time my family and I had finished baking and icing, we had spiced iced biscuits coming out of our ears! So I packaged up a few with some more candy cane style twine, glassine bags, and red labels to give to my colleagues and flatmates.
A great idea for Christmas decorations is poking a hole through the dough before it’s baked, and tying pretty twine or string through it to make a tree decoration. I got my very first own Christmas tree in my flat this year, and these are all that’s decorating at the moment! I can’t help but sniff them whenever I walk past haha.
Cookie cutters are from here. (Gingerbread people are my own).
Milk bottles and all crafty bits including glassine bags, twine, straws, and labels are from this gorgeous shop.
What are you doing to get in the Christmas mood? I persuaded my colleagues to let me play Christmas songs in the office today for a bit! And I’m planning on attempting some gluten free gingerbread men soon so that I can eat them too!
