“And when everything comes together and you look through the viewfinder, there is a window to something magical. You see something you have never seen”.
This exhibition has probably been posted about on hundreds of blogs but I still wanted to mention how much I enjoyed it. I dragged my Mum along one cold grey day between Christmas and the New Year and she loved it just as much as I did. It was amazing to see so many of Tim Walker’s magical, dreamlike photographs all in one place, along with a number of the beautiful props that feature in his photography.
I also loved the inspirational and imaginative quotes dotted around the exhibition.
If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, I suggest popping down to Somerset House sometime over the next 2 weeks that it’s still showing!
“Very often there’s a kind of nostalgia build into a photograph by virtue of you taking it. You’ve taken the photograph and it’s immediately a thing of the past the moment you press the shutter”.
