I have spent the last two days wandering around London taking in all of the loveliness going on for LDF. First stop on Monday was the 4th Annual Student Wallpaper Competition. I didn’t have permission to take any photographs to put up here, but I put my vote in for Kathryn Fowler‘s beautiful wallpaper. After taking a look at her website, I wasn’t surprised to find out that she won the Tigerprint Award at New Designers this year.
Next my friend April and I visited the Seven Dials in Covent Garden where seven designers had hung their work above the streets.
On Tuesday my friend Polly and I went to East London for some talks from designers. Lee Broom showed us his stunning crystal bulb designs.
We then had a studio tour from Tord Boontje which I was really interested in as I have been a big fan of his work for years. His recent prints (below) are really lovely.
And tomorrow I’m off to Tent! Out of these I recommend the wallpaper competition the most. Although they were designed by students, the standards were really high. I was impressed!
I’ve finally finished the retail work I’ve been doing lately, and I’m heading back to Bath on Saturday for my final year of uni (eek!). So this week I’m trying to do my uni holiday work (yep, I’m bad for leaving it to the last minute) amongst packing and visiting exhibitions and talks. But I also have a few posts planned so keep an eye out!
